The Actiform Approach to Sustainability

The Actiform Group  is committed to sustainability through its energy saving and environmental programme which is implemented from design, through sourcing of materials to final construction of our modular buildings and cabins in our factories.

1. Design

At design & sale stage, we actively encourage our clients to consider the   use of such items as;

 * Solar Power

 * PIR activated internal lighting and extraction systems

 * Solar shading to windows

 * Energy efficient lighting (now fitted as standard throughout the whole range)

 * Waterless urinals

 * Re-cycled flooring (60%+)

 * Aluminium windows and external doors

Evidence of similar buildings using the majority of the above can be found on the Olympic site @ the Skanska lots 1&2 and the Balfour Beatty Roads and Bridges Contract (Lot 3 & 4).

2. Procurement

We encourage the following;

 * To reduce waste only purchasing what is needed for the project

 * Major materials (by mass) used in the manufacture process to be sourced from a supplier within 50 miles of the factory

 * All timber purchased to meet the requirements for PEFC and/or FSC chain of custody

 * No insulation materials are purchased which contain substances known to contribute to stratospheric ozone.

3. Construction

Construction of our modular and cabin systems are carried out in a controlled factory environment which ensures that the buildings are manufactured to very tight tolerances, ensuring that the insulation values to the buildings exceed the minimum L2 requirements, thus reducing energy consumption.

These tight tolerances also ensure that there is minimum waste generated at both factory and site level.

All Actiform Group Modular Building and Cabins are designed and manufactured to be easily assembled and subsequently de-assembled ensuring that they can be re-used on many contracts.
